Marine Educator

As a Marine Educator at Sanibel Sea School, you will play a vital role in delivering our educational programs to children and adults. You will have the opportunity to facilitate immersive experiences in marine science, lead outdoor activities, and provide interactive lessons about marine ecosystems, conservation, and sustainability. We are looking for individuals with a strong background in marine biology, environmental science, or related fields. A passion for teaching and a desire to make a difference are also critical for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging marine education programs
  • Lead field trips, snorkeling excursions, and beach explorations
  • Teach classes on marine science, ecology, and conservation
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of marine animals in our facility
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and educational resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marine biology, environmental science, or related fields
  • Experience in teaching or facilitating educational programs
  • Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems and conservation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about marine education and inspiring others

Marine Conservation Specialist

As a Marine Conservation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to lead and support our conservation initiatives. You will work closely with local communities, stakeholders, and organizations to promote sustainable practices, conduct research, and implement conservation strategies. We are seeking individuals with a strong background in marine conservation, excellent project management skills, and a passion for creating positive change.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marine conservation programs and initiatives
  • Conduct research and analyze data to support conservation efforts
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to promote sustainable practices
  • Organize and lead community outreach events and workshops
  • Advocate for marine conservation through education and awareness campaigns

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marine conservation or related fields
  • Experience in marine conservation projects or initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems and conservation challenges
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
